Dear Pinecrest Premier Soccer Community,
As you know, Pinecrest Premier is a 501(C)3 non-profit youth soccer club whose mission is to develop the most competitive soccer club in Miami-Dade while being responsible community members. The club was founded on these principles by Renato J. Salazar in 2001 and through his vision it grew into one of the largest in South Florida.
Mr. Salazar can be credited for the youth involvement in the sport, in our community and the development of its players – many of which have continued to play at the next level. Under his tutelage many of the competitive teams have participated in local and national tournaments while producing two teams that have won state titles. He was also influential in the development of facilities that we continue to use such as Flagler Grove Park and Pinecrest Gardens. In a cumulative effort, he has brought numerous sponsorships to the club over his tenure, worked diligently and intelligently with local community and city leaders and laid a solid foundation for our beloved club.
Recently, Mr. Salazar agreed to expand the board of directors to five members, conducting an extensive search to identify parents that are passionate about the club, had different skill sets that could be used to benefit the organization and that would ultimately serve as directors. Subsequently, he informed the board that he would be stepping down from his current role as President effective December 1 st , 2016. Mr. Salazar will continue to serve as an advisor to the board indefinitely and we will rely on his vast knowledge of the club to lead it in the right direction.
With that mission and vision, it is with great pleasure to announce the expansion and the new members of Pinecrest Premier Board of Directors :

After thoughtful deliberation Mr. Nader Moztarzadeh has informed the board that he will be stepping down from his current role as director effective immediately. Nader has been an instrumental part of this club since its early years and has had much success on the field as well as off it. He is one of only two coaches to deliver a state championship for the club and as recently as last year led one of our teams in the prestigious Region Three Premier League (R3PL). He’s developed numerous players in our club that have played collegiately and has acted a valuable mentor to many of our past and present players. He will continue to serve as a coach on our staff. We are grateful for all of his valuable contributions as a Director.
The Board of Directors will begin a thorough search for its fifth member and will announce to the PPSC community its selection shortly after it is made.
In addition, we are announcing the restructuring of the operational structure of PPSC . As of today, Executive Director, Ms. Maureen Moztarzadeh , will no longer be with the club. We would like to thank her for her dedication and years of service to the PPSC community. Maureen has been instrumental in the growth of the recreational and competitive programs. We are grateful for her years of service to the club and wish her the best of luck with all of her future endeavors.
In the very near future we will be communicating the specific roles that each of our valued employees will be assuming in the day-to-day administration of the club. Also, we will be establishing committees that will be comprised of PPSC supporters and family members that will have specific objectives in reaching all of our future goals.
Finally, it is also of utmost importance to reiterate that the board fully supports our Director of Coaching, Mr. Giuseppe DePalo . He will continue to be the face of the club for our competitive programs and will be responsible for coaching evaluations, as well the oversight of player development and evaluations. Mr. DePalo has an excellent reputation that precedes him and will be one of the main architects for the future direction of our club.
We on the board are committed to making this club the best in Miami-Dade and we can’t do it without you. We want to thank you for your support and commitment to the Club as we all want to make it better.
Bios of New Board Members
Manny Escobio, President
Manuel Escobio joined Merrill Lynch in 2007 as a Wealth Management Advisor and is currently a Managing Director at the firm. Currently, he leads a team that belongs to the elite Private Banking Investment Group (PBIG) that is designed to manage the most affluent clients of the firm. He previously worked as a Vice President and Country Manager for the offshore private banking division of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) where he was responsible for directly managing clients and a team of bankers in the Mexican, Central American, the Caribbean and Andean regions. Prior to BBVA Manuel launched his career in private client advisory with Morgan Stanley.
Manuel graduated from Belen Jesuit Preparatory High School in Miami, Florida and obtained a B.A.S. in business administration with a major in finance from the University of Florida. He holds an MBA from the University of Miami with specializations in finance and international business. He is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) and has the Series 7, 31, 63, 65 and 66. Manuel is active in several foundations including Cradles and the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba.
Manuel has been married to Carolina de Cespedes Escobio since 1999. She is a pediatrician and partner in Pinecrest Pediatrics in South Florida. Together they are raising their three daughters: Andrea, Carolina and Cecilia. All three play in the competitive programs at PPSC and have been involved in the club since 2008.
Melisa Chantres, President of EvClay Public Relations, has more than 20 years of bilingual communications experience. She offers clients senior-level communications counseling, working in conjunction with their business objectives and strategies.
Melisa is an active community member and involved with organizations such as the Junior League of Miami and Castaways Against Cancer. She received both her B.A.S. in public relations and theatre management with a minor in marketing, and a master’s degree in music business and entertainment industries from the University of Miami.
A Miami native and a PPSC family member since 2010, Melisa is married to Carlos Chantres, Special Assistant to Player Development for the Atlanta Braves and has three daughters in the Club ranging from recreational to U-12.
Denise Daire, is currently a member of the Pinecrest Elementary PTA where she is a homeroom mom and volunteers a lot of her time in the classroom and with activities that fundraise for the school. She is also a chair on the G.W. Carver Middle School PTA.
Since 2008, Denise has been an active member of the Pinecrest Premier Soccer Club and has been a team manager for the club for many years. She is also involved with the Every Mother Counts Organization which inspires the running community to support maternal health programs around the world.
Denise received her B.A.S in business administration with a major in Finance. She worked in pharmaceuticals for over 10 years where she managed her team and was responsible for creating business strategies, goals for the district, and the launching of newly branded products.
Denise was born and raised in Miami and has two children who are actively involved in PPSC. She is married to J.C. Daire, Senior Business Manager at Citrix Systems Inc. She is an avid runner and actively involved in the running community.
As CEO and Managing Partner of CENTRO GROUP, LLC, a nationwide Human Capital Management Company, Chris wears many hats every day. For most this would be a daunting if not impossible task, however, for this serial entrepreneur, it is just the way of life that he has chosen.
Chris has found the key to achieving success is putting the right team together, setting clear goals and objectives, and empowering them with the essential resources. Immediately prior to leading a structured buyout of Centro Group (formerly SimplePay, LLC), Chris was the President and Co-Founder of Immerge, LLC, a nationwide sales outsourcing provider. Chris’ primary responsibilities included creating, communicating, and operationalizing the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic direction. Through these efforts the company organically grew to over 750 sales consultants, and acquired over $1Billion Dollars in new revenues in less than two years. In April of 2014, Chris made a life choice and sold his shares to the other partners in the company.
Chris earned his MBA through the Executive MBA Program at the University of Miami with a specialization in international finance. Chris’ bachelor’s degree in English and history is from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Locally Chris was a “lifer” at Gulliver Schools, having attended starting in first grade and graduating in 1992.
Chris enjoys spending his personal time being active utilizing South Florida’s natural assets and giving back to the community. He is currently a member of the Tocqueville Society of the United Way Miami-Dade County Chapter, as well as a Board Member of FIU’s Human Resources Advisory Committee. Above all, he enjoys spending his off time with family. Chris has been married to Jennifer for fifteen years and has four children – Caroline (11), Catherine (10), Chris Jr. (8), and Collins (2).
