Giuseppe DePalo BIO
With a myriad of experience at both Professional and NCAA Level, Giuseppe has become one of the most successful and respected coaches in the Southeast Region. In 2016, In addition to taking on the Director of Coaching role at Pinecrest, Giuseppe expanded his horizons by being named Head Coach of the Miami Fusion of the NPSL. The highlight was the Fusion’s run in the prestigious US Open Cup, where Giuseppe Advanced the team into the 2nd Rd.
Along the way there were also league victories against the Tampa Bay Rowdies 2, and Ft Lauderdale Strikers 23’s of the NASL.
As of 2015, The NCAA ranked him 32nd among coaches in his division in total victories. With coaches totaling less than 20 years ,Giuseppe ranks in the top 15 in NCAA II in total wins.
As a professional coach, Giuseppe has earned an impeccable reputation in the US for the job he did building the program at Nova Southeastern University, where he spent 17 seasons. At the time he was hired, Giuseppe was one the youngest Head Coaches in all of college soccer at age 26. The NSU Program was an NAIA team when he took over, who were expected to struggle in their transition to the NCAA. Giuseppe, remarkably, had the team near the top of the league almost immediately. He accomplished this on one of the smallest budgets in the league, and without a full time assistant coach. The Sunshine State Conference which is dubbed the conference of National Champions is considered by many the ACC of NCAA II. There are numerous top soccer programs, with 5 of the last 10 national finalists and champions all coming from SSC schools.
A native of Milan, Italy, DePalo attended perennial soccer power Franklin Pierce in N. H. He helped the Ravens to back-to-back NCAA Division II Tournament appearances in 1993 and 1994.
Upon graduating from Franklin Pierce in 1995 with a degree in International Business, he signed with the Connecticut Wolves of the USL. After two years with the Wolves, DePalo spent time with the Canton Invaders and Tampa Bay Terror of the Indoor NPSL, as well as the Albany Alleycats and New Hampshire Phantoms of the USL.
DePalo currently holds a USSF “A” License, as well as a UEFA B license. He is currently Pursuing his UEFA A license.
